The Fat Man

World famous clown EMMETT KELLY (in a whiteface makeup) makes his big screen debut in The Fat Man (1951) as the thug Ed Deets.  In this obscure film-noir classic, an innocent dentist is murdered. To the police it looks like an accident, so Jane Adams (JAYNE MEADOWS), loyal dental assistant, consults private eye Brad Runyan (J. SCOTT SMART); he's skeptical until he finds that Jane is being followed. The mystery deepens as Brad's search for missing dental patient Roy Clark (ROCK HUDSON) reveals many ramifications and loose ends.  There are many great moments with KELLY throughout this picture, and a scene with several clowns making faces at themselves in a makeup mirror is worth the price of admission alone!  Approx. 75 minutes, B&W.
